During the first year of COVID, that December, Gorillaz put on a live show for a fully digital audience. I was brought in by the team at Eleven Management to design and create a series of animated title cards, credits, and the show intro.
Working closely with the wider creative team, I developed the visuals based on the current album artwork, making sure everything stayed true to the band’s distinct aesthetic while flowing seamlessly within the live broadcast. The focus was on bold, engaging motion that could hold up on a large-scale digital stage balancing clarity with character across each segment. It was a fast paced project with tight turnarounds, but a great opportunity to contribute to such a unique, fully virtual live experience.
